A couple of weeks ago, we sent out a survey asking our speakers about their thoughts regarding the conference, conference travel, safety on events and their opinion on holding the event physically and/or virtually. We now made a decision: We will make it a virtual event in 2020: talks, workshops and networking.
The main reason is: It doesn’t feel right to proceed planning a physical event with an international audience and safety risks associated with travel. Moreover: The German government has extended the restrictions for large events until the end of October, and to date, it is very uncertain in what way these regulations would affect a medium-sized event like ServerlessDays Hamburg, too. To put an end to this uncertainty and to avoid any health and safety risk, we decided to hold the event online.
Rest assured that we are currently working on providing the best event experience for speakers, attendees and sponsors in 2020. At the same time, we have already started planning for a physical (maybe even hybrid) event in 2021 and are looking forward to seeing all of you in person: we invite you for free.
Later this year, as a ticket holder, you will receive a voucher for ServerlessDays Hamburg 2021, that guarantees free entrance to the conference day.
From today on we’ll provide you with regular updates to both events over the next months.

ServerlessDays Hamburg is a 2-day conference about Serverless technologies. "Serverless" means: instead of developing your own back-end, you upload and run functions in the cloud. At this conference, we have one day with workshops, and one day with talks. This is a local (virtual in 2020) event in Hamburg, part of the ServerlessDays family with events all over the world.
We aim to keep ServerlessDays events accessible. A big part of that is making them financially accessible. The majority of ServerlessDays costs are covered by sponsors, which enables us to offer affordable tickets starting at 35€!
The 3rd edition of the conference formerly known as JeffConf Hamburg sees it evolve into ServerlessDays Hamburg as the community grows and takes root globally.
ServerlessDays are a family of events around the world focused on fostering a community around serverless technologies. Each ServerlessDay is unique, organised by locals and not run for profit. They are run according the following principles.
In order to make ServerlessDays Hamburg more accessible we provide childcare for ages 3-8 years close to our venue. ServerlessDays Hamburg will be a virtual event in 2020 so there won't be a child care offering.
ServerlessDays is a community organised event focusing on Serverless technologies and the changing face of application development. We aimed to make it an inclusive conference welcoming people from diverse backgrounds. To reach our goal, we allow people who are part of an underrepresented group in tech to obtain a free diversity ticket.
